Terms of Service
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms govern your use of the Dan Hana mobile app and related web services (collectively, the “Service”), and define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between you (the “Member”) and the Service.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- “Member” means a person who agrees to these Terms and registers to use the Service.
- “Content” means everything you submit to the Service — your daily “one thing,” check-in records, reflection notes, etc.
- “Letter” (Report) means the weekly reflection automatically generated by the Service from your Content. Monthly and yearly variants may be introduced in the future; these Terms will be updated accordingly.
Article 3 (Effectiveness and Changes)
- These Terms take effect when posted within the Service.
- We may change these Terms within the bounds of applicable law. Changes are announced in-app or on this site at least 7 days before they apply (30 days for changes adverse to Members).
- If you do not agree to a change, you may close your account. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Article 4 (Membership)
- Membership is formed when you accept these Terms, complete the registration steps, and the Service approves your application.
- The Service is rated 4+ on the App Store and is open to all ages. Under South Korea's PIPA, users under 14 require a legal guardian's consent. Where COPPA (US) applies, we do not knowingly accept registrations from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
- Impersonation or fraudulent information may result in registration denial or later termination.
Article 5 (Service Features and Pricing)
- Daily one-thing entry and evening check-in
- Calendar, statistics, and streak visualizations
- Weekly / monthly / yearly AI letters generated automatically (processed via OpenAI API — see the Privacy Policy §5 for details)
- Morning and evening reminder push notifications
- Other features the Service may add and provide to Members
AI letters are generated from your entries and provided for personal reflection only. They are not medical, legal, or financial advice and must not be used as the basis for important decisions.
All features are currently free. If we ever introduce paid features, we will announce them at least 30 days in advance and obtain your separate consent. Members who do not consent may continue using the existing free features without one-sided reductions.
Article 6 (Member Obligations)
- Comply with these Terms, applicable law, and Service notices.
- Do not impersonate others or register false information; protect your credentials.
- Do not submit unlawful content (defamation, obscenity, violence, content contrary to public order or good morals).
- Do not interfere with the stable operation of the Service (e.g., excessive automated calls).
- Do not infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of third parties.
Article 7 (Member Rights)
You may exercise the following rights at any time:
- View, edit, or delete the Content you created
- Close your account and delete your data (see Account & Data Deletion)
- Rights related to personal data processing (see Privacy Policy)
Article 8 (Rights to Content)
- You retain copyright to any Content you submit.
- The Service uses Content solely to deliver the Service to you (storage, display, and Letter generation) and for no other purpose.
- As of v1.2, Letter generation involves transmitting your journal text and nickname to OpenAI (US). Inputs are not used to train models and are deleted within 30 days. See the Privacy Policy §5–§6.
Article 9 (Changes and Suspension)
- The Service may modify or temporarily suspend features for operational or technical reasons, with advance notice where possible. Emergency outages and security incidents may be communicated after the fact.
- If the Service is discontinued, we will notify Members at least 30 days in advance and explain how to export your data.
Article 10 (Restrictions and Termination)
- If you violate these Terms or applicable law, the Service may suspend or terminate your account after notice. Serious violations may result in immediate action.
- You may close your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete account.
Article 11 (Limitation of Liability)
- The Service is not liable for damages caused by force majeure events such as natural disasters, network outages, power failures, or third-party service failures.
- Letters are provided for reflection only and we do not guarantee their accuracy or utility. They are not a basis for medical, legal, or financial decisions.
- You are solely responsible for any disputes or legal claims arising from Content you submit.
Article 12 (Privacy)
How we collect, use, retain, and delete personal information is described separately in the Privacy Policy.
Article 13 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes about their interpretation follow Korean law.
- For any litigation arising from use of the Service, the court of the Member's address shall have primary jurisdiction. If the Member's address is not specified or the Member resides abroad, the general jurisdiction rules of the Korean Civil Procedure Act apply.
